Art Annex CT

We're thrilled to return to the lovely gallery space at 1027 Post Road in Darien (right next to Grieb's Pharmacy) to present Ben Larrabee Photography "In the Moment." From moving day to installation, it was a labor of love for all involved. The show runs through September 30, 2021. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday 10 am to 3 pm. A new exhibition, “In the Moment,” will be on view September 16 through September 30 at 1027 Post Road in Darien. Presented by Art Annex CT, the gallery will feature Ben Larrabee’s fine art and portrait photography.  Larrabee’s goal as a photographer is to be authentic and honest, not merely different. This approach is based on letting go of his expectations and assumptions – to use the photographic experience as a way of finding truth and connection.  He earned a B.F.A. in Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters degree of Fine Arts in graphic design from Yale University.  Larrabee says, “I am pleased to bring a collection of my work into this gallery space right in downtown Darien, my home since 1988. Things are incredibly vibrant there now and adding artwork makes it even more so.” Learn more about the artist at benlarrabee.com.  There will be a “Meet the Artist” opening on Thursday, September 16 from 5 to 7 pm. Last fall, Britt Bair loaned her painting "Babbling Brook" as part of the RAC @ HAYVN exhibition in the lobby of this coworking space in Darien, CT at 320 Post Road.  Members of the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) have been participating in group shows since its opening two years ago. As with all things 2020, RAC filmed a virtual Artists Talk to share since group events were on hold. Load in day was extra fun for Andrea Letters as Art Annex CT rented a truck to transport large paintings from Britt Bair's house in Rowayton to 1027 Post Road in Darien for her solo show.     Excited to share the news that Art Annex will be presenting a new exhibition, “Britt Bair Art: Expressions in Color,” on view June 10 through July 6 at 1027 Post Road in Darien. Presented by Art Annex CT, this is the first solo show of abstract art in Connecticut for Rowayton artist Britt Bair. Britt Bair is an abstract expressionist artist who works in acrylic, mixed media and oil, mixing vibrant colors to create her own visual language.  Her work has been selected for exhibitions at galleries, museums and other local venues. She is a member of the Silvermine Artist Guild, Rowayton Arts Center and the Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan. Her work may be found in private collections from California to New York.  She is represented by Gallery 104 in NYC, Geary Gallery in Darien, CT, Avondale Arts in Watch Hill, RI, Louisa Gould Gallery in Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Hazel House in Vero Beach, FL. Paintings by Rowayton artist Georgette DiScala Diamandis are now on view at Ski and Sport in NewCanaan. Georgette's passion is painting animals as well as landscapes. Her colorful style allows the personality of each place or pet to shine through the artwork.  Georgette is happy to paint dog and cat portaits on commission, just send a photo to Georgette14@gmail.com and she will send along a quote.
